About Albert Manau
I am a photographer, audiovisual producer, filmmaker and video editor.Always, in school, he excelled in subjects more related to art, much more than in others. I was always watching animated series and drawing. Reading comics and playing video games. Everything about the image appealed to me. Music, too. For several years, I studied music theory and piano.Over time, that led me to study Artistic Baccalaureate at the Massana School in Barcelona (1999). It helped me develop both artistically and also as a person. Then I did 1 year of Industrial Design (2001) but I discovered what was not exactly my thing. Then I studied a Higher Degree in Artistic Photography at the Groc School (Barcelona) for 2 years (2003-2005), and I knew that was what I wanted to do. I combined it with small freelance jobs as a music reporter (2004) in the magazine "Mondosonoro", and little by little I specialized in the music photography sector. That led me to do several jobs for music labels such as "Sony Spain" or "Warner Spain" (2007-2010), taking promotional photos of bands, concerts, van tours in Spain, video clips and album covers.Some time later I worked in the theater company "Dagoll Dagom" (www.dagolldagom.com/) as an audiovisual producer (2012-2014), doing reports on plays, rehearsals, castings, premieres. It really was a very rich and authentic experience for me, with an incredible group of people.All the work behind a theatrical production is gigantic.Then I put together some audiovisual freelance jobs (2014-2015) related to the beauty and fashion sector, such as the cosmetics brand "Marc Jacobs", sessions and fashion catalogs under study.At the same time, he was part of the production of the documentary "Moz and I", as an assistant director and whatscreened at the 2016 Seville European Film Festival.In 2016, I joined the musical entertainment company "elrow" (www.elrow.com). elrow performs large-scale electronic music themed shows. I am part of the MKT department, in the audiovisual team, generating brand content, and promotion in its various social media channels, and recording and production of its various events around the world. Without a doubt, it is the most complete and intense work experience in which I have been.At certain times of the year, this job is like a way of life, as it requires traveling around the world to document the shows.
