Communications Engineer
Current- Work with LTE, CDMA (IS-95, 1xRTT, EV-DO), GSM, EDGE, iDEN, and WiMAX waveforms.- Design, optimize, and analyze novel physical-layer and MAC-layer algorithms and protocols for wireless communication systems (e.g. channel equalization, power control, data rate control, turbo decoding, handoff).- Write software simulations to test algorithm performance in MATLAB, C, and Python.- Design and execute lab tests between base stations and mobiles to benchmark and diagnose problems with algorithms, using tools such as QXDM, channel simulators and signal generators.- Create test plans for, assist in, and analyze results of drive tests. - Design RF filters.- RF performance testing, including ETSI certification of GSM base stations and FCC certification of CDMA and GSM base stations.- Develop LTE, WCDMA, CDMA, and GSM link budgets and coverage maps.- Collaborate with researchers internally and at other institutions, including Harvard, MIT, and Georgia Tech
