Apache Web Server Security Study:Collaboration: Played a key role in a pioneering research study investigating security vulnerabilities in the Apache Web Server, covering a span of 17 years.Analysis & Findings: Conducted both quantitative and qualitative analyses of 124 Vulnerability-Contributing Commits, identifying critical patterns and insights. Our research focused on pinpointing what indicators could have alerted developers to potential security concerns within these commits.Publication: Co-authored a paper published in the Proceedings of the 2013 ACM-IEEE International Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement, titled "When a patch goes bad: Exploring the properties of vulnerability-contributing commits". This work contributes significantly to understanding the nature of security vulnerabilities in software development.-Google Chrome Security Research:Collaboration: Contributed to extensive research on security vulnerabilities in Google Chrome, examining a vast dataset from the Chromium project.Data Analysis: Analyzed 159,254 code reviews, 185,948 Git commits, and 667 post-release vulnerabilities, employing a comprehensive approach to understand the correlation between socio-technical factors and security vulnerabilities.Publication: Contributed to a paper for the Workshop on Social Software Engineering at the International Conference on Foundations in Software Engineering 2014, titled "An Empirical Investigation of Socio-Technical Code Review Metrics and Security Vulnerabilities". This publication sheds light on the impact of code review practices on software security.
