The project aimed to define an architected material to maximise the surface-to-volume ratio for a heat exchanger.We exploited LPBF's ability to produce the corresponding gratings with a controlled roughness, analysed the ability of post-processing techniques based on unconventional machining to adjust the roughness, and performed a material selection in order to guarantee the mechanical strength to withstand water pressure.
