As a team and project leader I have conducted pioneering researches on novel semiconductors with unique optoelectronic properties.♦ Discovery of new materials. Screening, synthesis and characterization of new compounds based on interdisciplinary collaborations among cross-cultural teams of research.♦ Design and realization of a novel spectroscopic system, based on high-power ultrafast lasers and non-linear optics.♦ Coordinator of more than 20 projects, successfully evaluated by international committees of large-scale facilities, partner of Laserlab Europe, synchrotrons and free-electron lasers. ♦ Responsible of a team composed by researchers and PhDs students. ♦ Author of more than 10 articles published in famous international journals. Those results have been presented in conferences and in prestigious Universities, such as Tokyo and Paris-Saclay.

Lecturer in the courses of General Physics 3 and 4 for the 2nd years students in engineering, and in the advanced course of "Solid State Physics" for PhD students.

♦ I have supervised 6 thesis and various internship projects for Bachelor, Master and PhD students of the University of Trieste. I guided their first steps in the laboratory, coordinating their activities with weakly meetings until the revision of the final manuscript and oral presentation.♦ All the projects were evaluated with the maximum grade and they brought to publications in international journals.

Lecturer in the course "Optics, Electrodynamics and Special Relativity" for the 2nd year bachelor students in Physics. Done with the good-old fashioned approach: "chalk-and-blackboard".

Team and project leader of multiple research activities in the field of spintronics and light-harvesting.♦ Realization of novel laser-based optical and spectroscopical techniques.♦ Development of codes for laboratory interface (Labview) and data analysis (Igor Pro).♦ Investigation of light-matter interaction in graphene and in the newly discovered topological insulators.♦ Author of more than 15 publications in international journal. These scientific contributions brought to invitation to conferences and seminars in prestigious Universities, such as University of British Columbia, Stanford and the University of Amsterdam
