Technical applications functions assumed for the contract of pumping and supply of explosives by MAXAM Chile S.A. in the development and construction of the Tunnels of injection and extraction of air within the early works of the Underground Chuquicamata Mine Project.The main functions corresponded to the supervision and technical support in the blasting operation, specifically in the explosive's charging operation of the bulk hydrogel (RIOFLEX UGX) through the Pumping Units for Tunneling (UTP) of MAXAM.Some main achievements of the performance were daily and monthly reports, and procedures of blasting were implemented with the main parameters, KPIs and relevant results of the operation. Also, the loading operation was optimized achieving high advance rates, reducing ventilation times, reduction of the charging time of the explosive, periodic measurement of vibrations, among others.

Also practical courses of electronic detonators with ground blasting simulation in Galdácano Bilbao.

In addition, technical applications functions were performed in the measurement of relevant parameters of the use of the explosive and implementation of blasting procedures. Goals achievements were the correct implementation of the explosive RIOFLEX Rapid in replacement of ANFO for the horizontal developments, improving fragmentation and reducing over-break in the perimeter of the heading.
