For many years I have pursued a successful career in bioinformatics and laboratory software development. Coming from the field of telecommunication engineering, I started at university teaching and developing research in the field of biomedical engineering. Along my scientific career I have worked at TECNUN and later on at the European Bioinformatics Institute where I led the Service Oriented Architecture strategy of the Institute, coordinating the development of a new data and services framework, that included a revamped web site and a unified search engine, and finally as responsible for the Bioinformatics Unit at NAVARRABIOMED. I have also teaching experience at University of Navarra, Public University of Navarra and IE University.My entrepreneur character and my management skills also enabled me to achieve high performance level as Executive Director of several Spanish technology start-ups, such as IMAGINA BIOTEK, LINKATU, INTEGROMICS and SHOKESU.Concepts such as information architecture, user interface design, content strategy and visual design are the main drivers of my work.
