About Alberto Sugliano

In my current employment in Podium Engineering I’m responsible for the development and the race program of the Scuderia Glickenhaus 004C, a race car that compete in the Nurburgring endurance series and the famous 24h. In the last months, I have been involved as car support engineer in the WEC program, taking part at the 24 hours of Le Mans with the Glickenhaus Racing 007 LMH. During the Master's of Science in Automotive Engineering at Politecnico of Torino, I was a member of the Formula SAE team of my university, the Squadra Corse PoliTo. Thanks to that experience, I could being familiar with CAD and FEM analysis software (Catia, SolidWorks, NX, Hyperworks) and with some manufacturing process. I also learn how to work in team and how to manage activities like work planning, resources and time management.

Starting from the evaluation of the required work and from the availability of resources, a precise GANTT diagram has been created. I also in charge of budget management, sponsor and suppliers relations and of supervise manufacturing processes.With the SC19, we reached the first place overall in the Formula Student Electric Italy.

During this year, being the responsible of the chassis, with my division I was in charge to develop the new monocoque for the SC18. I had followed both phases the designing and manufacturing one. Starting from our main target, using CAD software and FEM analysis, we create our model that will became real after few months of work. In order to reach target of weight and of torsional stiffness, for the first time, the monocoque has been made by differentiated laminates, with different type of core and different number of carbon fiber plies.With the SC18 Integrale, we reach the third place overall in the Formula Student Electric Italy
