Industry funded Scallop (IFS), At-Sea Monitor (ASM), and Boat Safety 1 Certified.

Collecting lobster from 600+ taps set in the local area, separating out the legal sized lobster. I am required to prepare all bait for the traps, and to grab the traps line and set it into the hauler. Repairs to traps and the boat are also regular including fiberglass and mechanical work.

I was charged with insuring costumer and other employee safety, make sure no illegal activity was occurring on the property, and to check patrons photo IDs to make sure they were of age.

Using both hand and power tools I build landscape structures from gardens to stone walls going by instructions given by my supervisor. I have a ability to operate large work trucks and equipment such as a bobcat.

I worked for the University of Rhode Island's fisheries and aquaculture department on their Tuna project in Blount labs at the Graduate school of oceanography. We brought fish in from offshore fishing trips and transferred them into a large tank. The tank had a large re-circulation system which required, regular monitoring and maintenance. Using HATCH kits and other more technologically advanced systems I was charged with monitored the tanks water quality. I was also responsible for regular feeding of the fish using frozen bait such as Squid, Herring and Butterfish. I was also conducting similar operations with the freshwater Rainbow trout at the East Farm aquaculture building.
