Co-launched this international foundation focused on Women Empowerment and Gender Equality for an international network of (mainly) female angel investors and family offices in North America, Europe and selected countries elsewhere. Amazonia supports upwardly-mobile career women and female entrepreneurs via education, advice and - via our partners - direct investments. We are there for all (alpha) women who feel that they are somehow hindered by old boys networks or glass ceilings working against their ambitions, but we have a special soft spot for i) women in emerging and frontier market (EMFM) countries; and ii) transgender ladies.Within Amazonia I am director of operations with key responsibilities in the following areas: 1) backoffice; 2) social media policy and 3) as member of the emerging markets team, delegate for Eastern Europe & Central Asia. I am also in the task force that explores the development of an online store for and by our members, with this (semi-)commercial initiative then providing traineeships and work opportunities ('applied education') to talented ladies in EMFM countries.
