I earned my Bachelor of Accountancy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while working in a managerial position in my family’s business, which is a dairy company focused on producing and supplying mozzarella-type cheese to the majority of pizza restaurants in the city, and other clients.I’m eager to learn and do more, and I especially want to understand what it is to work in a different country, with a different culture, and in a company of a larger scale. I believe I can bring my experience and open-mindedness to the table. Experience because, when my grandfather was hospitalized due to Covid-19, my mother decided to stay in the hospital with him for several weeks, so I ended up taking charge of the company. I was 20 years old and definitely not ready to do so, but with the help of some very loyal senior staff, I was able to hold my own, and help things run smoothly. It’s for sure the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. It was a challenge but, in a family business there is this idea that if you don’t deliver, you are letting your ancestors down (especially if you come from an immigrant family like mine) so I had no choice. In the end I had learned in those almost 2 months more than I had learned in several years of academic study. That’s how I discovered the educational value of doing, and that is what I wish to pursue.And open-mindedness, because, as a product of an immigrant family, I have both a double nationality and a double culture, since my whole family is from Spain and we continue our Spanish traditions in Argentina. This allows me to be more flexible in my views and adapt well to multi-cultural environments.
