Working as a Civil Engineer II has allowed me to contribute to a variety of municipal and pedestrian & bicycle infrastructure projects. I have redesigned street geometry and pedestrian infrastructure in collaboration with Minnesota school districts as part of the Safe Routes to School Program, prioritizing infrastructure that empowers people to safely walk and roll to school. Evaluated existing pedestrian ramps and accessible pedestrian signals for various corridors, identifying common design and construction errors as well as innovative solutions to topographical challenges. Assisted in the engineering design and plan production for several municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery of final construction plans and SEQ to clients.

Contributed to the design of utilities and other infrastructure for clients in the public sector. Used Civil3D to design sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water main. Created profiles, alignments, surfaces, and conducted other tasks in Civil3D as needed. Developed H&H models in HydroCAD and their associated reports, contributing to detailed stormwater management plans for clients in the public and private sector. Designed wetland mitigation sites in North Dakota using field data and finalized based on clients’ feedback, achieving desired wetland mitigation size, preserving the overall hydrology of the site, and meeting State and Federal regulations. Reviewed stormwater management plans for various infrastructure projects for compliance with regulations established by the corresponding watershed organizations. Inspected and assisted with the management of construction projects for municipal clients, ensuring the timely installation of utilities and other infrastructure, managing project finances, and maintaining effective communication with clients.

Performed CQA and materials testing services for the construction of landfill cells and caps of various acreages, ensuring the client’s needs were met, the project was completed in a timely fashion, and the end result was compliant with state and local regulations. Conducted H&H modeling, managed environmental monitoring data, and drafted associated reports for multiple MSW and C&D landfills located in Minnesota and North Dakota, collaborating in a dynamic team setting to present our conclusions and recommendations accurately and concisely for each site to our clients and to regulators. Conducted Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan inspections, ensuring proper BMP application and maintenance were being implemented at each site.

Performed CQA and materials testing services for the timely construction of MSW landfill cells, ensuring the successful and environmentally compliant construction of the new cell such that the client would be able to effortlessly resume operations. Performed CQA and land surveying services for the installation of horizontal gas collectors for the reconstruction of a landfill’s gas-to-energy power plant. Assisted Wenck Response Services with emergency response and industrial cleaning on a variety of projects at various industrial and commercial facilities, responding effectively to critical situations that could pose safety or environmental hazards.

Surveyed and staked various construction projects using surveying levels, Leica equipement, Trimble R2, and ArcGIS Online equipment. Created maps using ArcMap to to aide engineering projects -- from delineating wetlands to delineating floodplain contours using historical data to indicating utility locations. Additionally, I reviewed blueprints, and completed miscellaneous tasks as needed to help projects move forward.

Researched ways to develop statistically accurate stream-sampling techniques, working towards improving the accuracy and reliability of in situ water quality data acquisition. Developed a model in R Studio to randomly sample high-frequency water quality data sets and output statistical analysesresults, creating a basis on which to conduct research that closely resembles human-like field data acquisition techniques for various pollutants. Evaluated progress on a weekly basis with faculty mentor, improving R model and research methodology for water quality analysis.
