Aldo Brizzi is a composer and conductor.He wrote chamber and symphonic works played by Baden-Baden Radiosymfonie Orchestra, the Danish Radio Orchestra, European Union Youth Orchestra, Arditti String Quartet and many more. Brizzi wrote operas such as “Mambo Mistico”, produced by the national Theater of Chaillot, in Paris, "Ópera dos terreiros" performed in Brazil, France and Italy, "Jelin" a comic opera, premiered in Alessandria, Italy in 2021, "Amor Azul" written with Gilberto Gil, performed in December 2022 in Paris and a modern orchestration of Scott Joplin’s “Treemonisha”. He released “Brizzi do Brasil”, an album with original Aldo’s songs interpreted by Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Teresa Salgueiro, Tom Zé and other meaningful names.He was the main conductor of the Ensemble of Ferienkurse, in Darmstadt and is, since 2016, music director of the Núcleo de Opera da Bahia - Brazil.He also conducted the strings of Berlin Philharmonic, the Porto Symphony Orch, Teatro Massimo Palermo, Santa Cecilia Rome Chamber Orch., the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Turin Philharmonic and Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Nacional de Mexico.He recorded music by Scelsi with the Choir and Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France, for the movie “Le Premier Mouvement de L’immobile", winner of many film festival such as IDFA Amsterdam, Turin Film Festival.He was also awarded with the “Diapason d’or”, “European Year of Musica” (Festival d'autumns of Paris - Venice Biennale), the A. Hepburn Foundation and many others.He studied at Bologna University - master cum laude - professors: Umberto Eco, Franco Donatoni, Aldo Clementi, etc. and conducting with Sergiu Celibidache and Leonard Bernstein. He worked on many projects with Giacinto Scelsi and Ennio Morricone.He was artistic director of many Festival, such as Scelsiana (Palermo), Antidogma (Turin), Goethe Institut (Salvador Bahia), and was vice-president of Scelsi Foundation, Rome.
