My goal as a senior software engineer is to help developing a BI oriented data backend and a web frontend for statistical data publication. The data backend is currently under development and it is based on the PENTAHO business intelligence suite. The web platform (middle tier and XML data frontends) was developed in PHP5+frameworks (symfony) and and was designed to make extensive use of Web Services interoperability. The data frontend and publishing services completely decouple data flows (XML) from data outputs (XSLT transformations). The company is a corporate ADSL and Wireless provider. (www.netika.it). My tasks included system administration (Debian linux, CentOS) working with Usermode Linux virtual servers, set up and maintenance of Virtual Domains (with Postfix+Courier Imap+MySQL) as well as challenging development projects, like the creation from scratch of a modular billing system with real time rating features (developed in C++/STL + Mysqlpp classes over linux, heavy use of multiprocess/multithread concurrent programming) and capable to talk to FreeRadius radius server (customized modules written in C). End user subscriptions procedures and WEB interfaces were developed in J2EE (jsp/servlets using JSTL and MVC design within a tomcat container). I also developed some experience working with the Texas Instrument AR7 embedded device, modifiying its linux firmware to extend a plain d-link D604T to a fully functional wireless HotSpot with AAA capabilities
