- DCS software maintenance- Project Management- Tracking and monitoring of equipment performance- Participate in equipment failure analysis (RCFA)- Maintaining equipment maintenance strategies using RCM II- Being part of the Continuous Improvement team- Maintenance of specifications and design criteria for instrumentation- Implementation, commissioning and upgrading of control systems- Maintaining system reliability, functionality and integrity- Being part of the projects team when required- High-level faultfinding- Standby duties for entire company (Hillendale Mine & Central Processing Complex)

Key job functions - Instrumentation:To ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of Instrumentation equipment in order to ensure minimum work disruption and high equipment integrity to sustain high productive levels.Detail work tasks included effective and efficient maintenance and repairs carried out on the following equipmentPLANT MAINTENANCE:- Fluid bed dryers (Sasol and CO Gas)- Reheaters (Sasol Gas)- Valves (all types)- Belt Filters- Reactor- Filter Press- Acid and neutralization equipment- Flow transmitters and switches- Levels transmitters and switches- Density transmitters- Temperature transmitters and switches- Weightometers- Alignment switches- Speed transmitters and sensors- Blockchute detectors- High Tension Roll Separators (HTR’s)- Becket Elevators- Conveyor belts- PH analysis- Samplers- Gas Analysers- Hygrometer- Equipment Isolation (Motor Control Centre)- Schenck equipment (Loss in weight and Bagging systems )- ABB control systems equipmentDETAIL WORK TASKS PERFORMED ON THE ABOVE EQUIPMENT INCLUDE:- High-level faultfinding- Calibrations- Installation, make-safe, commissioning and isolating- Maintenance service, testing, repairs- Checking of protection systems (safety interlocks)- Appropriate corrective action taken- Routine inspections- Terminations- Earthing of equipment- Programming/Teaching/Testing of the various transmitters and analysers- Cable installation- Identification of appropriate equipment for specific areas (Explosion proof)

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS - ELECTRICAL:To ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of Electrical equipment in order to ensure minimum work disruption and high equipment integrity to sustain high productive levels.Detail work tasks included effective and efficient maintenance and repairs carried out on the following equipment- Sub-stations- Switchgear within sub-stations and MCC (Motor Control Centre)- Motors- Lighting- Air conditioning, pressure fans and extraction systems- Test equipment- Cables- Emergency backup systems (UPS and generators)- Earthing- Transformers- Protection relays- DC Systems- Classification inspection (Ex)DETAIL WORK TASKS PERFORMED ON THE ABOVE EQUIPMENT INCLUDE:- High-level faultfinding - Installation, make-safe, commissioning and isolating- Maintenance service, testing and repairs- Checking of protection systems (safety interlocks)- Infra-red scanning- Appropriate corrective action taken- Selection and calculation of appropriate cable sizes for equipment and installations- Cable jointing- Cable installation (tubing and wiring)- Oil sampling, testing and purification- Routine inspections- Terminations - Earthing of cables, motors and equipment- Identification of appropriate equipment for specific areas (Explosion proof)- Standby duties

Plant Maintenance– CO & Sasol gas Fluid Bed Dryers, Re-heaters, Overhauling Valves, Temperature sensors, High tension Roll Separators (HTR’s), PH Analysers, Flow meters, Level & Density transmitters; Reactor, Conveyors – weighers, alignment & speed switches,Samplers, Faultfinding & Assisting with Plant Isolation when required. Maintenance on Instrumentation equipment in Acid Plant, Creating, confirming & completing job cards on SAP. Scheduled Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, RCM practitioner & Standby on all Plants.
