This involved delivering sales presentations, product demonstrations, articulating product direction and writing proposals. After 18 months I moved into the direct sales organization achieving target in my first year. Key clients include ADIA (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority), Hoare Govett (now part of Bank of America Merrill Lynch) and NatWest Capital Markets (now Royal Bank of Scotland).

Application Development / Business Analysis – a number of permanent and contract positions through this period ultimately ending up with a strong Capital Markets application development focus and experience.Role: Software Application Developer moving into Business Analyst.Main duties: I began my career as a programmer at Lloyds Register of Shipping delivering management reporting applications. I then spent time in application development at The Welcome Foundation before making the move into financial markets at the International Commodities Clearing House (ICCH, now LCH). At ICCH my focus, as a senior developer, was the delivery of a margining system as part of the main member clearing platform. My last development role was that of business analyst at UBS Investment Bank delivering a significant project to enhance a Cash Equity trading platform to handle Equity Options.
