Molecular biologist who started as a biochemist and have acquired Ph.D. in molecular medicine. My Ph.D. work is focused on the molecular mechanisms of the Transcription Export Complex (TREX) and its application in cancer research. I have also been working with long non coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as an approach to unravel novel gene based cancer therapeutic strategy. Currently working on functional genomic team using Whole Genome Sequencing, Whole Transcriptome Sequencing, and Optical Genome Mapping to identify potential causative variants in genes predisposing for Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer (HBOC)Experiences working in international groups. Strong background in biochemistry assay, cellular- and molecular biology (both classic and modern), experiment planning and execution, project and time management, protocol establishment, data analysis and interpretation and result presentation.I am always excited to pursue the search for truth and cannot wait to further improve my set of skills. I am opened for any opportunities that both industry and academia could offer me.Life has taught me that surrender is not my nature.

Ph.D. Program in Molecular Medicine (Prof. Dr. Teruko Tamura-Niemann lab)Institute of cell biochemistryMain project: The molecular mechanism of the transcription coupled mRNA export complex (TREX) and its application in cancer research.>Using THOC5 (member of TREX) as a tool to analyze how mRNA export is coupled with transcription elongation and 3’ end processing: • Sub localization study of the THO-complex members (members of TREX). •Using Nanopore sequencing technology, TTchem-seq, ChIP-seq and RNA Pol II mutants from David Bentley's lab to identify genome wide whether THOC5 mediates Transcription elongation and whether THOC5 dictates 3' end cleavage sites. •Using interactome analysis to Identify THOC5 interaction partners that are involved in RNA processing.>Using THOC5 as a tool to identify novel cancer specific target molecules: •Using RNA-seq to identify highly expressed long non coding RNA (lncRNA) in Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) EVA1A-AS, an antisense to an anti-proliferating gene EVA1A. •Identifying how THOC5 target lncRNA EVA1A-AS suppresses the splicing of anti-proliferating gene EVA1A and therefore demonstrating the role of cancer specific lncRNA in the cancer maintenance.Main tasks:•Ph.D. Thesis (planning and executing experiments for publications)•Supervising Bachelor and Master students.•Teaching in cancer system biology lectures.Acquired skills:•Excessive training on molecular biology methods, both classic and modern.•Protocols establishment.•Good scientific practice.•Professional experiment planning and time management.•Laboratory managment.•Working as a team.
