About Alexis League, Phd

With a background spanning academia, industry, and nonprofit work, I thrive in environments where I can integrate academic rigor with organizational acumen and my passion for working with others to seek solutions for multifaceted challenges to promote wellness.I earned my PhD in Psychology with a Neurobiology minor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Behavioral and Integrative Neuroscience Program, where my research focused on novel cannabinoid drug strategies to reduce HIV-associated neuroinflammation. I authored and contributed to six scholarly publications during that time, earning recognition through numerous departmental, regional, federal, and international awards totaling roughly $90,000, including first-round funding from the NIH, which supported my doctoral research. I was also fortunate to teach Biopsychology to nearly a hundred fantastic UNC undergraduates, earning departmental commendation for their feedback in both semesters of instruction. After gaining experience in the intimacy and psychedelics research and development industry and the nonprofit sector, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to leverage these diverse skill sets in a role where I can make a meaningful and positive impact on both my workplace and my community.
