Professor Alec Cameron BSc BE (Hons) Syd, DPhil Oxon, MS (MgmtTech) Polytech Univ NY, AMP Harvard.Professor Cameron commenced as Vice-Chancellor and President of RMIT University in January 2022, and is responsible for the overall conduct of the University's affairs in all matters. He is a Rhodes Scholar with a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Oxford in Robotics, and is also a graduate of the University of Sydney with bachelor's degrees in Science and Electrical Engineering, with First Class Honours, and the University Medal.Prior to joining RMIT, Professor Cameron was Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive at Aston University in the UK. His early career involved executive roles at Telstra and Sun Microsystems, as the inaugural Dean of the UNSW Business School, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Resources and Infrastructure), University New South Wales, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), University of Western Australia.In 2022, Professor Cameron was appointed Director of AARNET, Australia's national research and education network.
