I am an aspiring environmental professional who just Graduated Central Michigan University with a B.S. in Environmental Science, with a minor in Chemistry. I love the outdoors, natural systems, and I enjoy helping my community in order to make it a better place.My experience at Central Michigan has given me insight into the specifics of environmental systems, including how contaminants interact with and move through the environment, the specific classes of contaminants, the EPA methods for sampling for those contaminants, creating a sampling and analysis plan, health and safety plan, technical memorandums, and much more. My chemistry classes have given me experience on the chemical side of things, including learning how to read and interpret 13C Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), 1H NMR, Mass Spectrometry, and Infra-red Spectroscopy spectra, proper lab procedures, and many others.I am excited to use my knowledge and skill I have and apply it to my future employer to help serve their clients. A little bit more about me, I enjoy gardening, painting, yard work in general, among other things. In high school, I was in Marching Band for 4 years, I was in JV Quizbowl for two years and Varsity Quizbowl for 2, the last of which I was the Varsity Captain. I was in National Honor Society, and volunteered around town. I graduated Magna Cum Laude. In college, I was in the Chippewa Marching Band for 4 years, and the Community for Future Environmental Scientists for 2 years. At CMU, I was a Multicultural Advancement Scholar and an Academic Excellence Scholar. While in college I have worked Summer and Winter Breaks at Hungry Howie's Pizza in Port Huron, MI, as a part-time insider, where I make pizzas, answer the telephone, take orders, clean, cook, prepare the ingredients, among other things.
