I began as a Ph.D. track graduate student at the University of Notre Dame in January 2015 with Dr. Sergey Leonov as my adviser. My main research areas are plasma assisted combustion in scramjets and plasma flow control. I have a particular emphasis on optical diagnostics in our lab (high-speed imaging, schlieren/shadowgraph imaging, laser differential interferometry, etc.). I was awarded a 12-month Applied Research Experience fellowship from the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education to do research for FGC Plasma Solutions at Argonne National Laboratory. In May of 2020 I transitioned into the roll of Director of Hypersonic Technologies at FGC Plasma Solutions where I will lead efforts in Research & Development of plasma-based technologies for hypersonics. Currently these efforts are focused on the development on experimental demonstration of ignition systems for plasma-assisted ignition and plasma-assisted combustion in scramjet engines targeting an increase in reliability of the supersonic combustion and increasing the operational envelope of scramjets.
