Commenced with a business case I devised to replace sub-contractors with company fleet ($10.7m capital program); followed by devising and implementing a centralised national planning and execution function, which delivered savings in network optimisation and headcount whilst establishing high levels of customer service;Created a greenfield international logistics capability for CHEP by conceptualising, developing and implementing a global supply chain to support the seamless supply of product from Australia to over 70 overseas suppliers. This entailed selecting optimal locations; strategic sourcing and negotiating contracts with 4PL and 3PL's to provide warehousing and distribution capabilities in China, USA, Thailand, Mexico, Europe and Japan; negotiating with suppliers and Government officials; and ongoing operations management.

Primary duties include devising and implementing category strategies to optimise Toll Group spend through leveraging scale; managing and evaluating tenders including negotiating contracts with successful parties; establishing and scheduling Quarterly Business Reviews with contracted providers to review Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and jointly identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Key Achievements include:1. Managed National Road Line haul tender, which delivered circa 5.5% savings based on highest volume lanes (circa $130m per annum spend). Responsible for evaluating submissions and contracting with successful parties; 2. Established panel of contracted recruitment service providers for white and blue collar temporary and permanent labour, including indigenous Australians. This approach ensures that services are delivered to consistent contracted standards in addition to a circa 2.5% saving on annual spend; 3. Managed tender process for warehouse intra logistics (Racking and Automated Guided Vehicles), which delivered over a $1m in savings (equivalent to 9.42% of total cost) by negotiating and recommending a multi supplier arrangement. -

Achievement include:1. Developed and implemented a strategy for replacing sub contractor capacity with company equipment. This project improved capital utilisation, innovation, compliance and productivity for Intermodal’s road line haul business, which has more than doubled revenue new retention; significantly improved double shifting of assets, reduced reliance on sub contractors and delivered 24 hour express service and Higher Mass capability. 2. Developed and implemented organisational change by centralising road line haul planning and allocation from a state to a national function, to improve customer service; drive efficiency in network optimisation; reduce head count and provide 24 hours a day service coverage. 3. Developed and implemented a comprehensive compliance management framework, to manage sub-contractor and company compliance for speed, fatigue, load restraint, mass management and equipment maintenance.
