About Alec Davies, M.Ed.

Alec Davies is the Assistant Director of Next Generation Learning Technologies at EdPlus at Arizona State University (ASU). In 2021, Alec entered EdPlus as an inaugural EdTech Innovation Fellow where he focused on the design and scalable delivery of digital learning solutions, specifically with a focus on adaptive mathematics learning technologies.Prior to EdPlus, Alec served as a 2019 Teach For America Corps Member where he taught high school mathematics and STEM courses at Western School of Science and Technology (WSST) in the Maryvale neighborhood of Phoenix. During his tenure as a teacher, he strived to instill a love of mathematics, growth mindset, and developed understanding of algebra and geometry within his students.Prior to WSST, Alec taught mathematics and writing in Mesa Public Schools. He is also a recipient of a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Spain as an English Teaching Assistant for the 2018-19 academic year. Alec believes that all students deserve the opportunity to attain an excellent education and is committed to ensuring that reality. Alec earned his M.Ed. in Secondary Education (Mathematics) as well as a B.S. in Finance and B.A. in Political Science from ASU.In his free time, Alec is an avid soccer player, skier, and hiker. He also enjoys traveling to new places and spending time with his family and friends.
