In my time working with the Lindsey Lab at the Tulane School of Medicine, I trained under post-doctoral fellow Ben Ogola who taught me microscopy, histology analysis, cell culture, protein assay for western blot, and pressure myography. I assisted with aspects of his experiments, but I also started an independent mouse-model project looking into the down-regulation of the G-protein coupled estrogen receptor caused by introduction of dihydrotestosterone and other factors. I then looked at the cardiovascular system of the mice for significant findings indicating cardiovascular damage. My research was presented at Experimental Biology Conference 2022 and won best in class, an award that accompanied my young scientist travel award for the conference.

As a trained and state-licensed EMT, I am allowed to do procedures that are within my scope of practice and within the limitations put on me by the supervisory paramedic.
