About Alec H. Stimac
Hi there! I'm Alec! 👋 I am a recent Belk Scholar and 2023 graduate from Davidson College who studied International Relations, Economics, and Chinese Studies. Not only am I hoping to break into an exciting startup ecosystem through my ability to pitch, innovate, sell, develop, and consult but also make an impact at the "glocal" level, serving those in need within our communities here in the United States and abroad.I aspire to achieve global prosperity through building bridges between countries, cultures, and people–through uncertainties and assurances. I shake the foundations of isolationism by encouraging others to step outside of their comfort zones, delve into awkwardness, and start hard conversations. Finding the courage to create a better world can be difficult but putting energy into others and ensuring everyone has the skills to amplify their voice and toolset to tackle big problems is my North Star. Through writing I inspire. Learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom but out in the world. The biggest differences are made when we educate ourselves and take risks to acknowledge disparities together. I am not afraid to showcase stories against the status quo, ones that are not being talked about enough or at all. Whether in Asia, Africa, or North America, words carry weight, and people will take empathetic action.Through activism I show up. I have worked with NGOs, private companies, and firms whose missions are directed toward scalable solutions, development, and service. I devote time to building plans with them to create programming that is efficient and leads to meaningful, practical results.Through authenticity I dream big. Whether it be smiling or cracking jokes, my goal every day is to bring joy into others’ lives–to have them recognize the good in the face of bad. Ultimately, life is about lifting each other up to be our best selves. My leadership moves beyond the US vs. THEM mentality; it looks beyond walls and borders, beyond categories and social structures. I break down old molds that others believe can’t be broken. My leadership is meant to flood into others, for others to dive in deep with me to forge a "global family” composed of cross-cultural bridges.I am currently seeking opportunities in the Bay Area revolving around AI, Data Security, FinTech, ClimateTech, and other global start-ups doing international business. Outside of work, I am passionate about photography, music production, fitness, travel, and service. Email me at alechstimac@gmail.com for any questions or if you want to connect!
