Hartford, Connecticut Area

Led fundraising, grantmaking and marketing staff members and volunteers to propel united arts fund drive from $2 million to $4 million++ over 10 years. Established the organization as providing value "more than money" to grant recipients through joint and cross marketing, audience development initiatives, increased visibility for the cultural sector, advocacy, and civic beautification/engagement initiatives.

Greater New York City Area

Coordinated fundraising program for contemporary arts theater in New York, managing portfolio of nearly 100 grants to major national funders including Rockefeller, Pew Charitable Trusts, Lila Wallace/Reader's Digest, AT&T, Phillip Morris and others. Helped articulate case for collaborative funding of artists residencies in underserved communities across the country through DTW's National Performance Network and international artist exchanges through DTW's The Suitcase Fund. Had the privilege of learning all about this work from Executive Director and Producer David R. White and NPN Director Cathy Edwards.

Reviewed dance performances and competitions, and wrote feature stories about dance and choreography, for Moscow's English-language weekly newspaper.

In Moscow, assisted Russian magazine editors and modern-day impresario Olga deGuardia Smoak in creating U.S. distribution plan and editing translated editions of the Russian-language publication for English-language readers.
