Designed WiFi/BLE “IoT” products for major retailers (Kenmore, LG, Microchip, D-Link) with hardware(ASR-2) currently shipping in 100,000+ Kenmore Appliances.Lead for (Afero Secure Radio Module 2). ASR-2 is a low power board using Microchip MCU and radio module that provides WiFi/BLE connection between appliance and Afero cloud infrastructure to allow remote control and data collection.Performed schematic capture, BOM generation, layout (OrCAD/Eagle), gerber generation, design for manufacturing, Fab/Assembly, FCC Certification, Link Budget, Antenna Tuning, ERM.Ran factory bringup in person in China, Korea, and US at Tier 1 and smaller CMs and OEMs by inspecting SMT lines, troubleshooting first run issues, and setting up qualification testing on site.Debugged multiple critical path factory failures and bringup failures such as environmental RF noise, antenna retuning, component drift, and firmware bugs from chip manufacturer. Tracked all issues and project deadlines in JIRA. Generated work instructions in Confluence.Created POC Hardware demos for partners/customers for CES Las Vegas 2017 and 2018 and 20+ trials at customers.Created sensor boards for infrared motion, water, pressure, impact, orientation, open/close, lighting.

Managed assembly and installation of 1000+ sensors on Falcon 9 and Dragon. Sensor types are Resistive Thermal Detectors, Pressure Transducers, Accelerometers, Microphones, and Strain Gauges. Created/Performed qualification, burn-in, HALT testing for SpaceX instrumentation team.Sourced and evaluated pressure transducers for SpaceX fuel and engine systems.Performed tear down and failure analysis of differential pressure transducers.Troubleshot EMC issues with instrumentation installation on Falcon 9 and Dragon due to difficulty finding ground points during harness placement.Generated assembly/installation instructions for SpaceX technicians and integration personnel.Tracked assembly completion per vehicle at 9 vehicle per year launch rate. Managed project issues through custom internal tracking system similar to JIRA.

Claremont California

Led team that designed extremely low power consumption 10 GHz radar system for cube satellites. Complete system from circuit boards, to amplifiers, transmitters, receivers, and antennas designed in house.-Personal technical contribution: Designed Aperture Coupled Patch Antennas for 10 GHz radar. Provided 7 dB of gain and trouble shot isolation issues to create use-able radiation patterns. Worked extensively with Antenna Magus and CST (Computer Simulation Technology) to create the designs over 3 months. Did extensive modeling of cube satellite system to determine coupling with cube satellite body.
