My role focuses on analysis of external market trends and developments, understanding the underlying competitive landscape as well as internal business performance and data analytics. This includes the development of market driven strategies, exploring entry into new and emerging markets, supporting M&A activities, undertaking internal business reviews and a delivering strategic insights and a solutions oriented approach to assessing business problems/challenges.

• Lead the Group’s in-house research and analysis capability and provide executive decision support across the company, through: o The preparation of tailored research projects, o Regular competitor and market insight publications, o Group revenue, EBIT, work in hand and opportunity pipeline analysis and reporting from the Microsoft Dynamics CRM (project opportunity pipeline and revenue management tool), o Support the development of business and strategic plans across the companies four divisions, including Spotless and Downer New Zealand, o Undertake business performance reviews and benchmarking studies to assess underlying strength and challenges facing the Downer’s business units.• Governance, supervision and long-term structural change of the Downer’s Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform.• Promote Downer EDI as a thought leader to internal and external audiences and provide market intelligence for investor relation and board presentations.• Train, mentor and develop graduate staff during their rotations through SG&I.

At BIS Oxford Economics I regularly conducted in-depth research and analysis across a range of sectors in the building, construction, mining, heavy manufacturing and associated maintenance industries.I project managed a number of multi-client studies and was a key contributor to the Infrastructure units Engineering Construction, Mining, Road and Maintenance studies. I was also responsible for a large variety of privately commissioned research projects for industry and government.
