I am a skilled Web project manager who has started from the ground and worked up to a leadership role in the public sector. I began my journey at DynCorp as network support specialist. I learned the ropes of tiered server architecture, customer service, and developed a drive to use Web technologies to benefit online businesses. I saw an opportunity to advance my career and help others as a Webmaster for the American Red Cross, National Headquarters. It was a challenge I accepted openly and began my career move to the position of Director of Internet Marketing and Online Services. At the American Red Cross I was able to learn first hand how larger organizations struggle with newer Web technologies and I worked to improve the website by implementing an enterprise-wide content management system, an upgraded online donation system, and played a part as a leader in many projects to recruit volunteers, support online blood collections, and provide customer service to those who contact the organization via the website, emails, and phone. The American Red Cross supports people around the world during times of unprecedented disasters. This required a top-notch website that would scale to it's visitor demands and provide timely and relevant services.After the American Red Cross, I took the opportunity to move into the public sector and join the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis as the Web manager and now Branch Chief. I not only use my existing skills to improve one of the best statistical agencies in the federal government, but to utilize new technologies to spread the word on how important the work of the Bureau is to the public. I currently lead a very capable Web team to upgrade, maintain, and promote a statistical data interface that enables users to access U.S. economic data in a timely manner.
