Delivery: My job as a delivery assistant was to aid the professional installers on their daily routes. I traveled throughout all of Illinois, and parts of Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan. It was extremely interesting, not only learning how to install appliances, but meeting so many different people and interacting with them while we worked. It was an extremely unique and interesting experience.Practiced Patience: Each day I had to interact with customers face to face no matter their attitude. Lifted items: Being able to move new items into cutomers homes and install them. Installed New Units: I helped professional installers install new dishwashers, microwaves, icemakers and refrigerators on a daily basis.Appliance Service: On the appliance service staff I was able to interact with the customers daily. Our department aided our customers in scheduling calls for appliances in need of service. Abt is a company that prides itself on customer service, and in order to sustain that prestige, our interaction with customers is vital. As an appliance service call taker I not only scheduled the appointments for customers but would troubleshoot solutions to their possible problems over the phone as well. During this job I learned skills that will benefit me for the rest of my life.Handle diversity: I had a lot of challenging calls dealing with customers who were not very cooperative, forcing me to keep my emotions calm and do my job to the best of my ability.Spoke with customers daily: This allowed me to have practice in the field of customer service. I was able to interact with customers daily, scheduling them for service appointments and trouble shooting over the phone. Showed Commitment: I came to work everyday ready to do my job to the best of my ability. I was 19 years old and working my first time full job with colleagues much older than I. I was able to hold my own , something that made myself and family proud, never quitting ever when I was down.
