5 years of experience in television production and have had roles in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes, the latter being more recent. I have done video production and social media work simultaneously for the Flint Firebirds. Also, I have done audio and radio production work for Current Sports with Al Martin, including behind-the-scenes work such as audio management for the daily shows along with videography work collecting footage of MSU Football and Men's Basketball games. During my time pursuing my Master's Degree at Michigan State, my classmates and I won the 2019 Region 4 Mark of Excellence from the Society of Professional Journalists Finalist for Online News Reporting. collaborated on a meta-project surrounding the topic of Solutions Journalism, a concept that has been gaining traction over the years. Traditional news media reporting tends to spotlight problems and conflicts in society, whereas Solutions Journalism spotlights solutions to those problems and conflicts in society. Say, for example, an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Most headlines would spotlight the spill and what caused it but do not include any possible solutions in that article or in future articles. An article spotlighting cleanup efforts or organizational initiatives to fix the problem would fall under the umbrella of Solutions Journalism. My contribution to the project was extrapolating on the modern-day journalists’ perspectives of this concept. Another project I am proud of is my NBA ethnography project. I followed the first and last place teams' top-rated subreddits and compared the content and overall daily discourse of information and emotions leading up to COVID. One major limitation of this project was that the Golden State Warriors were in last at this point, and a team like that would not truly represent a fanbase that is angry at their team’s performance, since most fans knew they would return to their winning ways next year. The New York Knicks would have been better for the project if they were in last place. Also, COVID was a significant factor in this project because it completely ended the season, and most of the content on both of those subreddits was surrounding the virus.
