Through the use of Mediation and Arbitration we offer our clients a path to a speedy, cost effective resolution for their legal dispute. The use of our services greatly reduce the risk and legal exposure associated with traditional litigation.The goal of mediation is to amicably resolve a dispute through the efforts of the parties. The role of the mediator is to utilize patience, persuasion and people skills to facilitate the dialogue between the parties in order to reach settlement. The mediator does not have the authority to render a decision, the parties are not compelled to reach an agreement. Any party is free to leave the mediation at any time.

Although I retired from the practice of law at the end of 2002, I really found my calling in mediation and conflict resolution. It provides me with a joy and satisfaction unlike anything I have ever experienced through labor in the past. I separate my work into two apparently irreconcilable categories: commercial and family (divorce) mediation. Actually, the techniques of each are quite complementary! Each set of skills makes me better at the other. God, I love what I do!!

Mediators Beyond Borders (“MBB”) is a nonprofit organization that brings together experienced volunteer mediators worldwide to improve conflict resolution capacity and support alternative approaches to expressing, negotiating and resolving interpersonal, political, economic, social, ethnic and religious differences.MBB‘s members are internationally recognized experts, premier thinkers and innovators, and practitioners in dispute resolution. This broad and deep array of conflict resolution, peacemaking and capacity-building experience has heretofore never been assembled as a volunteer organization. .It has projects in communities in Liberia, in a refugee camp in Ghana, assisting community integration of Somali refugees in Pennsylvania, and with Katrina victims in the Gulf Region of the US. Projects are currently being organized in Nepal, Zimbabwe, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Thailand, Kosovo and the countries surrounding it, and with indigenous communities in Canada. Teams are actively researching project possibilities in Colombia, East Timor, Cambodia, Yemen, Nigeria, Kenya, and Ecuador.

We started this import and distribution company from nothing in 1992 and have grown it to the point where we gross over $10 million annually today. My original contribution was primarily my financial and business acumen. Today, I primarily provide overall business advice to the active management that runs the company on an ongoing basis.

I give CLE lectures on mediation to attorneys at various sites in California.

As a litigation boutique, we prosecuted complex civil litigation, including substantial class actions against such entities as America Online, Bank of America and Fen-Phen, as well as other, multi-million dollar representative actions with a high rate of success.

As manager, I oversaw the development of this company from a gross income of approximately over $80,000 per month from arrival to over $750,000 per month upon my departure from active management in 1996. I also expanded our horizons from a local Los Angeles area wholesale agency to a national and international business entity.

Participated in management of the largest privately held printing enterprise on the West Coast. Inactive after March 1996.

This was a company that did art and layout for a variety of magazines. I sometimes contributed to editorial, but, primarily, stayed in the background. Inactive after March 1996.

Parliament News, Inc. distributed books and magazines throughout the United States and Canada, and through sister corporations, internationally. I was inactive after March 1996.

I gave CLE lectures on legal ethics to California attorneys at various locations in state, as well as in Hawaii and Las Vegas.

General practice. Primarily civil litigation, some divorce, a bit of criminal, and as much co9ntract work as I could get

Subrogation, with all the bells and whistles. In this case, it involved obtaining and enforcing promissory notes from poor people who generally weren't aware that they'd been sued as a result of an auto collision.

It didn't take long to figure out that solo practice and I were not yet compatible.

I worked in a patent and intellectual property firm awaiting the bar exam results.

Door to door retail sales. Something to do while studying the law.

Working in Rep. Paul N. "Pete" McCloskey's (R-Calif) office exposed me to the working elements of Congress as well as to the fortunes of a quixotic Presidential campaign. In the course of my work, I prepared Rep. McCloskey's economic platform for the 1972 Republican National Convention. Given Pres. Nixon's control of that party, it didn't receive much notice.

Loading and unloading trucks - - the true path to academic success.

This gig was offered to us as a result of an audience debate given at U.C.L.A. for top oil company executives. Not surprisingly, we had been assigned the industry position.
