As the Executive Director, I am responsible for the overall success of the organization, encompassing the following areas:- Strategic Planning: Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic goals and initiatives to ensure long-term growth and sustainability.- Board Governance: Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the Board of Directors, providing necessary information and updates to facilitate informed decision-making.- Finance and Operations: Oversee financial management and operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and objectives.- Community Engagement & Events: Drive community engagement efforts and organize events that promote the organization’s mission and increase its impact.- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the team to achieve high performance and foster a positive organizational culture.- Continuous Professional Development: Promote and support ongoing professional development opportunities for the team to enhance skills and stay updated with industry trends.

Finance and Operations• Plan and oversee the annual operations budget.• Organize Branch Out finances for the organization’s bookkeeper to ensure timely payment in accordance with all contract obligations.• Oversee all contracts for services.• Support existing revenue streams and generate new revenue streams to improve financial results.• Manage and maintain donor and sponsor relationships, including low to high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and various corporate partnerships.• Manage Branch Out inventory and develop and maintain a central database of records.• Manage Branch Out’s administration as an incorporated society, including the maintenance of appropriate insurance coverages.• Oversee and help coordinate research program and funding in universities across Canada in collaboration with the Branch Out Research Director.Community Engagement & Events•Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events, such as the Branch Out Bike Tour. Along with the Co-Founder, serve as Branch Out’s primary spokesperson with media, community members and at all Branch Out hosted events.• Attend community events and engage in community outreach for networking, fundraising and awareness purposes.• Oversee marketing and other communication efforts.Team Leadership and Professional Development• Hire, train and retain a team of competent and qualified staff and/or contractors.• Foster a positive team environment by building strong relationships and inspiring mutual trust and respect. Facilitate a healthy, safe, and productive workplace that promotes personal dignity, understanding and cooperation.• Administer, comply and promote Branch Out policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, the Employee Handbook.Board Governance• In collaboration with the Board of Directors, facilitates board governance processes and ensures adherence to organizational bylaws and policies.

- Coordinate research funding in universities across Canada.- Manage and maintain the Branch Out donor base, including all donors from low to high net worth, family foundations, and various businesses.- Support new fundraising efforts with the Branch Out co-founder, Research Director, Bike Tour Lead, and Branch Out Board of Directors.- Manage Branch Out’s administration as an incorporated society, with support from Branch Out’s Research Director, Operations Manager, and Bike Tour Lead, including but not limited to, organizing the finances for Branch Out’s bookkeeper, maintaining appropriate insurance coverages, and managing Branch Out’s inventory. - Collaborate with the Branch Out team to help execute various marketing initiatives (campaigns, social media activity, fundraising reports).- Attend community events for networking, fundraising, and awareness purposes.

As an alum, returning to Mount Royal University to speak with current students is always a privilege. Recently, I had the opportunity to share my career journey, offering insights into navigating different career paths and practical tips for making the most of opportunities after graduation. I also discussed my Queen Elizabeth Scholarship experience in Gaborone, Botswana, which significantly shaped both my personal and professional growth. Through these sessions, I aim to inspire students to explore unique opportunities, like the QES scholarship, and encourage them to push beyond their limits. In my current role at Branch Out Neurological Foundation, I’ve seen the value of innovation and community in driving positive change, and I hope to continue supporting students as they forge their own paths.

I was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship in 2019 to work in Gaborone, Botswana for the Botswana Olympic Committee for 4 months. We created a Long Term Athlete Development Plan for the National Badminton Team. Along with facilitating mental health seminars, tournaments and creating community engagement.

- Leveraged communication skills to deal with customer service issues accurately resulting in high customer satisfaction- Demonstrated effective organization skills which resulted in successful birthday parties/events- Built strong attention to detail and bookkeeping skills through handling billing and cash out at the end of the night.

- Explored various facets of the golf course to gain diverse experiences- Adapted to a fast-paced kitchen environment, acquiring new culinary skills- Found satisfaction in mastering landscaping equipment and adhering to a structured weekly routine- These four years provided invaluable experiences, developed life skills, and cultivated lasting friendships with the staff.
