As a professional Life Strategies Coach, Aleisha works together with individuals to achieve fulfilling outcomes in many areas of their lives, utilising creative approaches and artistic media as tools for personal exploration and development. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Northern Ontario's arts & culture publisher and indie press, Type A Media, through which she uplifts and amplifies diverse, emerging voices in arts & culture. She also owns the all-natural cosmetics company Naturally Fabulous, whose focus is on encouraging healthier, body-positive inclusive beauty standards. Having more than a healthy flair for the dramatic, Aleisha has always enjoyed the transformative power of cosmetics - both as a mechanism for aesthetic expression and as a tool for personal empowerment. Through her cosmetic businesses, Aleisha provides healthy alternatives to the mainstream cosmetics industry whilst helping to promote positive self-esteem in an industry known for its negativity and superficiality.In 2008, Aleisha founded The Art Within in Toronto, Ontario, to provide individuals seeking to lead happier, more fulfilling lives with a safe and creative space as well as the guidance and support necessary to assist them in achieving their goals. Prior to that, Aleisha worked in arts and culture in both community and education sectors.She received her Specialized Honours BFA (in Creative Ensemble, Playwriting and Visual Arts) from York University with a double minor in Psychology and Cultural Studies. Aleisha went on to achieve professional certification as a Life Strategies Coach through The Spencer Institute, and graduated the OSEB Business Start-Up Program at the Toronto Business Development Centre.She has contributed to numerous print and digital literary publications and has been a staff writer for commercial news and industry publications globally. She is a professional artist and performer; her creative works have been seen on stages, in galleries and in print across North America. Her debut chapbook, "What Lasts Beyond the Burning" is forthcoming from Nightingale & Sparrow Press, December 2020 and she writes an ongoing poetry series for Channillo.com for and about strangers, entitled: I Wrote You This Poem.
