Alex has a Bachelor’s Degree in English from De La Salle University, Bacolod City in 1965. He pursued higher academic studies in business and management leading to an MBA while working as a senior executive of PT&T-Philppine Wireless, Inc., the largest telecommunications group in the country. He later founded a pioneering and profitable electronic security systems company which operated the first digital central station in the Philippines.Alex’s working experience range from broadcast media to tourism, telecommunications and electronic security and safety. For many years, Alex has broadened his experience through numerous travels to the U.S. and Southeast Asia, to such major countries in the region as Japan, South Korea, Hongkong, Singapore, and Taiwan.He started out in the broadcast media in 1963 as a radio-TV announcer and newscaster of ABS-CBN Broadcasting Company, the largest radio-TV network in the Philippines. In 1967 he joined the government tourism promotion agency, the Board of Travel and Tourist Industry as Provincial Coordinator responsible for planning, organizing and implementing the tourism development plans for the province of Negros Occidental.He worked with Phil. Telegraph & Telephone Co. (PT&T) a telecommunications network as Area Manager, methodically rising through the ranks of middle management to become Vice-President for Marketing and Branch Operations overseeing more than 100 telecom branches nationwide.Specialties: In 1980, he organized ESS Electronics, Inc. in the electronic security industry and trained extensively with ADT Security Systems in New York as international distributor for the Philippines. In 1984, he founded Safeman Systems & Services Corporation establishing the first digital central station in the Philippines monitoring the country’s largest banks. He accumulated more than 20 years of experience as a security and safety systems designer, contractor and consultant.
