During my internship I developed a configuration to convert the Hydrotreater Light Gas Oil into a Hvy Kero Draw to the Jetblending. During my internship I oversaw the Sulfur Recovery Units (SRU) of the plant. As a reliability intern, I focused on making safety my priority. I monitored which parts of the units required to be retired and inspected. I calculatednumerous values, including Corrosion Rates, which were extremely important for the plants continued success. • I became proficient in the use of PCMS (Plant Conditioning Management Software), GRT (Global Reliability Tool), API 571, DMR (Damage Mechanism Review), among many other areas. • This internship gave me firsthand experience and allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the different mechanisms in the refinery and how they all work together.• My mentor allowed me to grow by pushing me to think not only as an engineer, but also understand what it takes to run the plant with all the responsibilities and challenges that come with it. This gave me a bigger understanding ofthe business and economic aspects of the industry as they relate to each project.
