As a freshman, I competed at the Kansas DECA state level in three events: Retail Management, Sales Management, and Entrepreneurship. I placed 2nd and reached the finals at the international competition with my hydroponics business plan. In my second year, I competed again in the Kansas State competition, winning two events and securing a second place in another. Additionally, I served as a nominating committee member and Kansas Voting Delegate, where I interviewed candidates for DECA president and voted on behalf of Kansas for the next DECA president. At the international competition, I reached the final and placed in the top 10.DECA has provided hands-on learning in areas like marketing, strategic thinking, and business planning. Through DECA courses, I completed the Leadership Passport, honed my business skills, and performed community service, which further sparked my passion for entrepreneurship.As the current vice president of my university’s DECA chapter, I have focused on recruiting new talents and conveying the value of DECA. I also created a promotional recruitment video for the chapter.
