Alejandro currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Concepcion, where he leads the Space Curricula and is the track coordinator for the Aerospace Engineering Major (Created in 2002 and with around 150 graduates to date). Since 2019, has been a champion for New Space: Entrepreneurship and Innovation, looking to foster the development of a space-related industry and economy from the Biobio region to the world.He holds an Aerospace Engineer degree (University of Concepcion), and an MSC in Aerospace Engineering (Delft Univerity of Technology) with a strong background in exact sciences, and interests & motivation for space economy, entrepreneurship, innovation and ecosystem development. Is currently pursuing (expected graduation June 2024) a PhD in Space Systems Engineering at Brazil's Institute for Space Research (INPE) which he pursued to understand the principles behind cost-effective and scalable cubesat-based clusters.International, intercultural, and interdisciplinary minded, he is an alumnus of the International Space University and an active member of different professional networks like INCOSE, ACHIDE, Colegio de Ingenieros. He likes challenging projects in an international team environment, event coordination, and social activities such as travelling and cooking.
