• Prepared written reports for senior management and technical services consultants on settlement authority requests, the status of catastrophic files, recommendations for future reserves, and action plans to move the file forward• Created and managed a valuation model to do present value calculations on lifetime benefits that saved time by improving a manual process• Attended global mediations and License and Appeal Tribunal (LAT) Case Conferences on behalf of 3 Intact Financial Companies• Provided coaching and support on file handling to Accident Benefit team members• Collaborated with the Accident Benefits Assistants to identify trends in the file handling process to improve workplace efficiency

• Reviewed all the files for Jevco, Intact, and Belairdirect Insurance that were going to dispute (LAT, FSCO, ADR, and SOC)• Co-founded the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team with colleagues in order to build an expert team that deals exclusively with disputes and that resulted in approximately $600,000.00 savings annually• Organized meetings with the handling adjusters and their managers to make recommendations on how to move the file towards resolution that resulted in 76% of the files being resolved prior to or at Case Conference• Managed the dispute process from the License Appeal Tribunal without having to involve legal counsel up to and including the Case Conference, which resulted in significant cost savings to the company• Kept track of all the files in dispute for Intact, Belairdirect and Jevco Insurance in Ontario, which has guaranteed no files go to a hearing or trial without having gone through the appropriate vetting process• Mentored and coached junior and intermediate members of the Accident Benefits department with a focus on settlement negotiation and adjudication of specified benefits• Managed the reserve levels on my team to ensure files had enough funds to support all claimants
