Ever since I was a child, I was always interest in knowing how things worked. I could not have a toy without staring at it and wondering how it was made. How it was managed to be designed so that the object could do what it was intended to do. This led to many broken, torn apart, and dismantled toys. I could not help it. Something inside of me kept on telling me “How does this work?” and I would never feel satisfied until I found out. It was not until my early college years that I found that this passion, this uncontrollable need to know and understand how things work had a name. Engineering! I fell in love with engineering the day I took my first introductory class. I finally knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I found my purpose. Throughout my undergraduate career I spent much of my time away from my family and friends. I spent days and nights in the school library learning everything that I could about engineering. Eventually I joined a research team at CSUN where I began to design and manufacture carbon fiber parts that were being used for lambda wave propagation testing. For my senior year I joined Formula SAE, which gave me more hands-on experience. Although engineering requires hard work, countless sleepless nights, and the copious amount stress, I know that there is nothing else that I would rather do with my time. I have learned so much during my undergrad, yet I still have this unquenchable thirst to know more.
