My work at ITI revolved around data acquisition, persisting and analysis directly from industrial controls and DAQ devices, such as allen bradley or siemens PLC's, advantech equipment, etc.. and its storage in various data structures both in sql and no-sql databases such as SQL Server, Cassandra, Hive, etc..Analysis and data visualization played also a major role at each project, being the final tool any engineer in charge of maintenance of the monitored assets will end up using, techniques such as 3D representation of data on top of machinery models, heat maps, etc... where some examples of tasks performed.

My internship at Valencia Engine plant as a software engineer was to plan, develop and test a SCADA to monitorize the working parameters from the machining heads of two of the production lines (block and head), the system was designed so it could offer both real time monitoring and historical data adquisition to plot trendlines, the data was received from different sets of sensors such as lubrication (temperature, humidity, flow rate), operational temperature , power consumption, and vibrations. this sensors were connected through a industrial network interface with OPC Protocols, if you want to know more you can look at my PFC or speak with me directly.
