Alejandro Sarasti is currently managing Muebles&Co., a small furniture design firm originally serving the local market with custom made furniture and decoration objects. As an architect and public administrator, he has held various positions both in the public and private sectors. Having graduated with a Master in Public Administration from Columbia University in New York Alejandro Sarasti has worked in different government and non government organizations both in Colombia and abroad. He started his career as an architect in New York and then returned to Colombia to work at the Institute for Urban Development – IDU, –the agency in charge of public works of the city of Bogota – in 2004 and has since worked at the Banco Agrario de Colombia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism, and most recently as Director of SILO, a Spanish science and innovation consulting firm.His international experience includes consultancy work on environment and infrastructure at the Inter-American Development Bank, the Organization of American States – OAS, and the AlvarAlice Foundation in New York.Alejandro Sarasti’s interest in topics as varied as design, infrastructure, environment and economic development have given him the opportunity to pursue a wide diversity of jobs and publish articles in different topics. In addition to his job he has served as a Board Member of the AlvarAlice Foundation and as senior advisor to the Science and Innovation Link Office - SILO.Alejandro speaks Spanish, English and French.
