Alejandro Schtulmann is a founding partner and president of Emerging Markets Political Risk Analysis (EMPRA), a political risk advisory and consulting firm focused primarily on Mexico and Latin America. He is also the founder and CEO of Advanced Intelligence Solutions (AIS), a consulting firm specializing in business continuity, protective intelligence and technology in Mexico and Latin America. Mr. Schtulmann possesses extensive academic training in international relations, comparative politics, economic policy, and public security issues in Mexico and Latin America. He is a frequent contributor to major newswires, think tank publications, local press, and leading world newspapers, and a regular speaker on Mexican politics and security in the international financial community. He has more than 15 years experience in political risk consulting. Mr. Schtulmann has a B.A. in International Trade and Business from the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). He earned a M.Sc. in Economic Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of the University of London and a MIA in International Political Economy from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. In 2001, he attended the first Bucerius Summer School on Global Governance in Hamburg, Germany, which gathers young leaders from around the world. Mr. Schtulmann has executive diplomas in Counter-Terrorism Studies from the Lauder School of Government at the Inter-Disciplinary Center in Hertzliya, Israel (2011), in National and International Security from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government (2017), and Artificial Intelligence from Stanford University (2019). He is a regular attendee as well as an organizer of events discussing geopolitics, LatAm politics, energy security and transnational crime. In 2017, Mr. Schtulmann participated as a Delegate to the Raisina Dialague, India’s most prominent summit on Asian geopolitics, geo-economics and security.
