WHY DO THE FIELDS OF BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (BI), INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT), AND FINANCE APPEAL TO ME? I am passionate about empowering organizations to leverage BI and Emerging Technologies to achieve peak levels of operational efficiency and strategic superiority over their competition. HOW I LEAD: I empower my team members to capitalize on their unique skill sets, the teams that I am privileged to guide are always well equipped to anticipate and weather any challenges that they may encounter. This philosophy is also a critical leadership strategy for attracting, and retaining, top talent. MY SUPERPOWER: My memory! Being a classically trained pianist from a young age, I can easily remember vast amounts of multidimensional information for long periods of time. Classically trained pianists must be able to perform up to two hours of music completely from memory. MY APPROACH TOWARDS PROBLEM-SOLVING: Rather than addressing problems in the short term, I always try to take the “long” approach to when seeking solutions.Good leaders must be able to see farther and sooner than others in order to keep their teams oriented on a path to success. I compare this philosophy with driving a vehicle. Whereas some car drivers only look at the action taking place immediately in front of them (i.e., perhaps a single car length), truck drivers look at what is taking place much further ahead so they can adjust their strategy, and respond to any potential roadblocks and hazards. I believe that careful attention should always be focused on keeping operations functioning smoothly - both in the short term and well into the future - with as few hiccups as possible HOW IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) IMPACTING BI, ANALYTICS, and TECHNOLOGY OVERALL?Used properly, AI can increase the productivity of teams and projects beyond the capabilities of what can be achieved by already-healthy levels. For example, AI can allow employees to focus on value-added/impactful activities while leaving the low-value/repetitive tasks to AI to perform.HOW I UNWIND OUTSIDE THE 9-TO-5:▶ Fitness/Health - Prioritizing my health and well-being gives me the energy I need to thrive and lead a fulfilling life.▶ Piano - I am a classically trained pianist and have received finalist status and awards in various competitions both local and international.▶ Travel - I have traveled to more than 50 countries all over the world. I take a deep appreciation in discovering and learning about different cultures and history all over the globe.
