He is self motivated to do whatever he can to be successful both as an individual and on a team. Here is an example to explain those words. In 2011, Alex started as an intern on our team. Our team is technical with the support we provided. He was given the mundane task of updating multiple spreadsheets for a project. Taking it upon himself to recognize the inefficiencies of multiple spreadsheets, he began to research on ways to make the spreadsheets more meaningful as well as reduce the number of spreadsheets. He taught himself various skills with regards to spreadsheets, ie formulas, vlookup, etc. These skills that he taught himself, made management of the spreadsheets more useful as well as allow the project to be better managed. This caught the attention of the senior program manager of the project who provided Alex with some mentoring while working on the project. By Alex going the extra steps, he drove the success of the project from the management side. To continue with the example, by the time the internship ended, the success he had with the job he did with the project made the decision to hire him easy. However, being a technical team made it difficult to find a correct role for him. He was hired and given the role of handling measurements for our team. As he continue to work on our team, he began to take on more responsibilities and thrive with everything out in front of him. His work ethic is second to none. He was invaluable on our team. Anyone that employs Alex will get not only a great employee but also one that will make the team and company much better. I highly recommend Alex for any position. I guarantee that it will be the best decision a potential employer will make.
