In my role as Lead Analytics Engineer at Chalhoub Group, a leading luxury retail organization in the GCC, I manage a team focused on creating sophisticated tools, interactive dashboards, and data products that became indispensable to over 40 data analysts and thousands of business users across a multi billion-dollar organization.📊 The last mile on our analytics ecosystem is the use of Looker, which is connected to our DataWarehouse BigQuery, and serves as the gateway to our data, allowing for a structured, user-friendly interface that enables analysts to explore data effortlessly. We build and maintain data marts in the data warehouse for analytical purposes, using #dbt to build data pipelines and #airflow to orchestrate them.🔍 The semantic layer, #LookML, played a crucial role in this process providing a well-defined abstraction of the underlying data structure in the data warehouse. Responsible for Savia's data strategy throughout its value chain from collection to exploitation, with the aim of helping Savia be a data driven and customer centric company, attacking three different pillars:1 - Make it possible to make decisions based on data, through democratization in access and exploitation of them in cloud environments. I lead the design of our Data Warehouse/Data Lake (GCP, BigQuery, GCS...) in the best way possible to enable creating BI & Analytics strategies that provide answers to questions in the shortest possible time and with the greatest accuracy . For this, I define the strategy and data architecture so that all data of value for the company is available and accessible when and how it is necessary. 2 - Improve and optimize the business at any of its points through predictive and machine learning techniques that optimize any of the company's processes, make decisions automatically and/or personalize the customer experience (customer clustering, NBA, NBO, A/B testing...). I lead a team of data scientists providing them the tools, frameworks and methodologies that we need, using cloud technologies in GCP (BQ, DataFlow, AI Platform, KubeFlow...)3 - Help create the best customer experience through the correct use of the available information, accompanying the client throughout his relationship with Savia. I participate in agile projects with multidisciplinary teams in order to detect where could be a business case.All being based on the use of cloud (mainly GCP), open source and agile methodologies that help us deliver value as quickly as possible, whether it is an end or internal customer.
