Profile bio

About Alejandro Jirasko

I am Mechanical Engineering Grad student from Georgia Tech. From a young age, I began forming a fascination for technology, cars and a desire to understand how these are manufactured developed from beginning to end. This fascination consequently led me to study a career that would place me in the companies that design and manufacture what I grew up loving.I began my professional journey into the engineering industry by joining the formula SAE team at the University of Florida, where I have participated as an Intake & Exhaust Engineer, Ergonomics Engineer, and Business Lead. This experience prepared me to take the knowledge I had acquired with the team to two automotive/mobility companies I grew up admiring and dreaming of working with. In the spring of 2021, I interned for BMW as a planning engineer where I developed an Apex system for the PaintShop (Finish-Wax Line). Following this rotation, I interned at Michelin as a quality engineer, where I developed systems to improve productivity for the dimension changes in the tire building machines. My career goals are fundamentally motivated by a desire to be a leader in the technology and automotive industry where I could not only exercise my knowledge as an Engineer but also lead teams and projects that can bring innovation to the industry and foster knowledge and career growth of engineers in charge of such projects. I always knew I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer however, my interest in leadership began when I founded the chapter of the society of Hispanic Professional Engineers at my junior college. I took on this role because I wanted my classmates to understand all the possibilities they have as engineers and introduce them to various ways they may use their education and experience to advance their careers. All in all, I want my career as a Mechanical Engineer to shape me into a leader who impacts the future of the world.
