Setting up a team of Software Developers to build products and services for our customers.

As a Senior TPM I am responsible for designing and leading a 3-year strategy to get my team ready for Production Support. My day to day activities are recruitment, planning, reporting and delivering strategic projects. Until now I have designed and implemented several processes to measure our team readiness. I participate in centralised working groups to get our division ready for production support. Additionally, my team is working on several automations that will reduce manual work for other TPMs and our support engineers.

My primary role was to lead the Automation and Monitoring team for the Risk&Credit IT division that consisted of 150+ applications and 230+ engineers. I was leading a team of 7 developers to improve IT processes, service level agreements and reduce operational cost. During 3 years my team delivered more than double the required FTE savings and developed expertise in the following tools: AppDynamics, Splunk, Moogsoft, ELK Stack and Prometheus.My secondary role was to define Cross Divisional Projects to reduce manual work and then successfully execute them. An example of projects that I delivered are:• A single portal to monitor all the batches for the investment bank and middle office, monitoring 2.6K jobs daily. This has reduced the overall communications between teams, improved transparency with users and reduced the delivery time for daily P&L• The design and implementation of a web application for monitoring 300+ applications and manage Incident communications with our users. This solution helped to reduce communication between teams and with our users, allowing our engineers to focus on resolving incidents that lead to shorter incidents• Design and implementation of a portal to manage all weekend deployments, create custom application checks and use information from monitoring tools to evaluate the health of our applications. We onboarded 600 applications to this tool and automated 2000+ checks• Deployment of monitoring tools for all our infrastructure and the corresponding integration with alerting tools to reduce incidents and manual checks from our support teamsIn these roles I was responsible for stakeholder management, project updates, escalations, risk management and mentoring new joiners from the Apprentice and Graduate programs.

As Production Support Manager I was responsible for an area of Investment Bank Applications and Services. I was managing 4 teams within the Risk and Analytics space with a total of 40 headcounts. Additionally, I was the regional Lead of other teams within my IT business sector: coordinating incidents, taking care of weekend changes, improvements and mentoring junior team members.Two of my teams managed the Risk and Credit applications. These provide our traders with real time risk and historical metrics that are calculated in our nightly batch. The team operated in different locations working on 24/5 rotas to manage user support and control the batch. Another team was in charge of our DataSynapse GRID, where our systems can run multiple simultaneous calculations to generate Risk and PnL figures. With this team I also worked on several projects to transition our services to Microsoft Azure.On top of these daily tasks I was also leading our Automation and Monitoring initiatives with a small team of 3 developers.

While working as Technical Project Manager I was asked to organise the first local Support Team in the London office. My role was to coordinate my team day to day activities to support 3 businesses and perform the role of London incident manager. My team was supporting the Rates, FX and Equity Desks on the following applications: Abacus (In-house Pricing and Trade Entry), ION MarketView, MarkitWire, Deal Hub and Barracuda, Fidessa, ORC, Various Brokers and Electronic Market clients.As part of my team lead responsibilities I was involved in: cost analysis, budget planning, recruitment and designing training programs. Additionally, I lead the design and implementation of Automation tools to improve efficiency of my team.

I worked with the FX and Rates desks as a Project Manager coordinating several international projects. I lead a 2-year project to enhance the IT Front Office solutions for Pricing and Trade Entry. The technologies used include Java, C++, several API and Web Services. During this time, I participated in other projects like the integration of new electronic platforms with our internal systems. I also performed the role of Business Analyst defining the technical solutions for business requirements. Additionally, I mentored several graduates that were participating on those projects.

Initially working as a Developer in Java Swing for the internal FX and Rates pricing application in Front Office. In this role I was performing several activities such as coding, analysis and testing; as a member of a team of 20.Later, I moved into the role of System Owner; I was in charge of managing the Bonds Allocation system. This was a 3rd party system developed by Ipreo and deployed internally. My main responsibility involved the coordination between the vendor and our trading desks. The system was used 24/5 in EMEA, LATAM and APAC. I was the single point of escalation for all regions.
