As the Linux Systems Administrator, I am accountable for the upkeep and management of all Linux servers, which includes but is not limited to DNS, DHCP, Load Balancers, and Kubernetes/Docker systems. I work collaboratively with developers and DBAs to configure and maintain container infrastructure and shell scripts to ensure that everything runs smoothly. I rely heavily on automation and frequently utilize Ansible to streamline projects. I manage the virtualization infrastructure in vSphere 7 and storage HPE Nimble. Additionally, I am responsible for maintaining backups using Veeam and our backup storage on ExaGrid. When required, I respond to server hardware issues and replacements to guarantee that the systems are functioning optimally. I also create proposals for upgrading existing systems when necessary. As part of my role, I respond to network alarms, emails, and bug reports and swiftly develop solutions to resolve them.

In my previous role as a Junior Systems Administrator, I worked closely with the Senior Systems Administrator on various projects that involved managing both Linux and Windows servers. I was responsible for resolving escalated tickets from the help desk in ServiceNow, and I also sought ways to prevent similar issues from arising in the future. I automated the employee separation process using PowerShell scripting to enhance efficiency. I was in charge of managing accounts in Active Directory, Azure AD, Office 365, and Exchange 2019, and also configured SSO for new service providers in both our on-premise ADFS instance and Azure. I also had the responsibility of updating Windows servers 2008-2016 using BatchPatch. When our Linux Systems Administrator resigned, I seized the opportunity and took on the role, performing all the necessary job functions while simultaneously assuming more responsibilities like provisioning new servers and troubleshooting any issues that were presented.

In my previous role as a Help Desk Operator, I was responsible for overseeing the virtual services area of our main help desk for the university. I acted as the go-to person for end-user issues, ensuring that their requests were directed to the right resources or solutions. I also trained and managed student assistants who served as technical analysts to ensure that they were equipped with the necessary knowledge to address the current issues and use appropriate remediation techniques effectively. To improve our team's productivity, I used PowerShell and WMI commands to automate repetitive tasks, which resulted in more efficient workflows. Additionally, I implemented ServiceNow homepages/dashboards to streamline inbound service calls and provide quick access to necessary resources, leading to improved response times and better customer service. I also created custom Windows images for workstations that would perform post-install tasks, which reduced deployment time and increased the consistency of our software configurations.
