About Alejo Lopez

With over 20 years of experience in the energy sector, I am passionate about finding high impact solutions for global issues. I have worked across the technology spectrum, from solar to electric vehicles, wind, efficiency, smart grid, and even fracking and dirty oil and gas. I have also worked in various settings, from large corporations and Fortune 500s to startups, funded ventures, and clients of any size, including governments, banks, and large extractives. As the Vice President of Latin America at NEXTracker, one of the most innovative companies in the world, I lead the future growth of the region, with over 15 GW of trackers successfully deployed. I leverage my expertise in M&A and project development, which I gained from my previous roles at Hanwha Q CELLS, Siliken, and Global Cleantech. I have secured over 2000 MW of utility assets and launched the first large-scale distributed generation project in the region, among other achievements. I have worked in over 30 countries and have a deep understanding of the market dynamics and opportunities in Latin America. I hold an MBA in Finance from the University of San Francisco, where I graduated with honors.
